Certificate III in Road Transport
Course Outline:
This qualification is designed to provide the student with skills and knowledge to work in the Transport and Distribution Industry within the administration field. The Clients for this qualification will be existing employees and new trainees and employees in the Transport & Logistics Industry - Road and Rail Transport, Warehousing, Storage, Stevedoring and allied Industries.
Course Outcome:
Successful students will exit with a certificate III in Transport and Distribution
Entry Requirements:
There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Physical Resources:
Workplace specific equipment adequate for the delivery and assessment of the qualification.
RPL/RCC:
Students who have completed appropriate training or who through prior learning and experience believe that they may have gained the required skill or competency stipulated for this course/unit may be granted credit upon substantiation of the claim.
Credit Transfer:
A1GT recognises Australian Qualification Framework qualifications and Statements of Attainment which are issued by any other Registered Training Organisation.
Students may be entitled to a credit transfer in the following circumstances:
- Completed units of competency from a relevant National Training Package.
- Approved units of competency from a National Training Product.
- Successful RPL application.
Exit Points/Articulation:
Successful students will exit with a Certificate III in Road Transport (Administration)
Student Support:
Training can be adapted to suit people with a disability and literacy and numeracy problems. Delivery and assessment methods will be adjusted to cater for learning difficulties.
Learning Strategies:
This course is anticipated to be delivered in one the following forms;
1. Delivered on the job
2. Theory base components delivered off the job with the practical components delivered on the job
3. The theory component off the job with a blend of practical components delivered between both off and on the job.
4. Through Recognition of prior learning (RPL), for partial (with the balance of training completed with one of the previously mentioned modes) or full qualification.
Training can be adapted to suit people with a disability and literacy and numeracy problems. Delivery and assessment methods will be adjusted to cater for learning difficulties. In the event of the expertise not existing within A1GT to address any issues, extra assistance that is required will be found for the student.
Each of the units has a student resource for content information, theory (training delivery) and an observational checklist that is to be signed off by the assessor. All components need to be completed to gain competency in the unit qualification.
Successful completion of the unit(s) qualification would also enable the student to continue further training in the Transport and Distribution Training package at the appropriate certificate level.
Assessment System:
Assessments will occur on the job with both the practical and theoretical components of the courses addressed through a series of practical and theoretical activities designed to determine the students level of competence.
Qualification Issued:
Successful completion of the respective units would give the student the recognition of being at the trade level in the field of Transport and Distribution by having obtained the knowledge and skills to carry out the required tasks need to operate vehicles (as specified in the respective units). Successful students will exit with a Certificate III in Road Transport
Training Pathways:
Successful completion of this qualification of this qualification may give the student the chance to obtain employment in the industry or an elevated role in industry and take on more responsibility.
